Etsy For Weddings?

Posted on Wednesday, January 27th, 2010 at 10:03 am

If you haven’t been to Etsy.com, go there right now.

Etsy has been called a “crafty cross between Amazon.com and Ebay, and your grandma’s basement”. It’s a website that supplies the general public with a way to buy and sell handmade items, vintage items, and crafting supplies. From photography to clothes, handmade paper goods, beauty products, food and toys, you can find not only great things for yourself, but great gifts as well.

And don’t just go there for that ‘typical’ stuff. Go there for wedding stuff!

Etsy even has a category dedicated specifically to weddings. Custom invitations, bridal party gifts, beautiful jewelry, wedding favors, and slightly random, but wonderful items such as custom cake toppers, ringbearer’s pillows, even beaufifully custom made dresses (you gotta see Nathalie’s dress from Amanda Archer in San Francisco).

One of the great things about Etsy, is you can also find vendors that are local. There are definitely plenty of Baltimore Etsy vendors out there with amazing products and services. Little Details Big Day is one of them.

This Etsy shop is an Annapolis-based custom wedding shop specializing in handmade clutch purses, table linens, and unique wedding accents. Michelle Kobryn, creater, started the business after planning her own wedding. She looked everywhere for unique bridesmaid gifts, napkins, and ceremony send-off ideas, but to no avail. So she made everything herself.

Michelle wants to help brides design custom details for their dream wedding. She can coordinate any wedding color palette and theme with various fabrics. Not something you can find at any party rental or retail store.

  • About Lauren Wenchel

For nearly a year now, Lauren Wenchel has searched and scouted for the most unique, wedding ideas and inspiration geared toward the Charm City bride. It all began with planning her best friend's bridal shower, and snowballed into creating inspiration boards, talking to local wedding vendors, and posting real Baltimore weddings on Charm City Bride.com for other brides to admire.

Born in Baltimore and raised in the surrounding area, she's got a strong grasp of the who's, what's, and where's of Maryland's largest city. Adding on to that is a Fine Art degree from Towson University, and an ever-growing love for all things design, creativity, and inspiration.

Please feel free to contact her to share you own real wedding, ideas, or inspiration.
