Prizes/Benefits: The Grand Prize Winner, First and Second Runners-Up will be printed, framed, and displayed at the DC State Fair on August 28. Winners will get to take their framed prints home, to show off their DC pride to friends and family. Winners will also take home ribbons and small cash prizes.

Recession Art: What is the Where? Fall 2010 show

Prizes/Benefits: Winners will be featured in a group exhibit at the Invisible Dog Gallery in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn.

Silver Eye International Photography Competition
Deadline: August 27, 2010
Prizes/Benefits:
+A $3,500 award and is open to all eligible photographers.
+A $1,500 is open only to Pennsylvania residents (who may apply in both categories).
+Both winning artists’ work will be exhibited at Silver Eye (in Pittsburgh, Pa.) in shows opening in late November 2010.
Cost: $55 for non-Silver Eye Center members
Cost is waived at the $35 student membership level and $70 membership level
Danielle Scruggs is a photographer and writer currently living and working in Washington, D.C., and Silver Spring, Md. Her work has been exhibited in Baltimore and Brooklyn and published by The Washington Post, Stop Smiling magazine, FILE magazine, and F-Stop Magazine. Scruggs holds an M.A. in Digital Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art and a B.A. in Journalism from Howard University. She is still very much in love with Charm City, albeit from a distance.

Thanks for posting about Hey, Hot Shot! I just wanted to let you know that we extended our deadline to August 31st at 8 p.m. (EDT) and also doubled our Grand Prize to $10,000!
Each Hot Shot will also receive a $1,000 credit to produce their own book at Blurb.com.
