There are just four days left in 2010 and I thought it would only be fitting to share this fantastic photo essay of New Year’s Eve celebrations from around the world. This past year has been a whirlwind, friends. I’ve had some amazing opportunities come my way, writing for Charm City Current with a host of other talented writers from the Baltimore area being just one of them. I’m so looking forward to welcoming 2011 and saying farewell to 2010 in style. Wishing everyone a fruitful, joyous new year.

O Winter Tree, O Winter Tree…

Just in time for your various winter celebrations (the solstice, Hannukah, Christmas, Festivus) is Winter Trees, a project with a simple conceit: examining the life and death of Christmas trees.

Winter Trees comes from New York-based photographer Youngna Park, whose work I’ve admired for quite some time. She has an eye for unique details and formal composition and almost always uses natural light to her advantage.

Be sure to check out the rest of her portfolio, as well as her eponymous blog documenting her day-to-day life in Brooklyn.
