38 Candles on the Cake…or on the Sagu?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAGU!

OK, so probably birthdays aren’t the greatest thing in the world of professional sports, but damn I love a good birthday, and it’s not like Sagu is showing any signs of aging. Dude led the MISL with 14 wins this year, just sayin’.

Plus, his birthday is the day before mine. Which, I have to say, makes me feel just a little more badass than I already do (which is a lot). Sagu and I are almost-birthday twins.

Fun fact: Sagu’s name is the name of a dessert he likes.

On my birthday, you can call me chipwich.

The Blast’s veteran goalkeeper was named to the All-MISL First Team today, after being named Goalkeeper of the Month almost every month this season. He is joined by defender Pat Morris, who was not only second in the league with 36 blocks, but tied for 10th in scoring.

The Blast earned two spots on the second team as well. Defender and media darling Mike Lookingland earned a spot after recording 35 blocks this season, and so did forward Pat Healey, who notched the sixth ranking in the league with 48 points on 17 goals and 13 assists.

P.S. Milwaukee only grabbed one spot on the First Team and two on the Second Team.

She's been an Orioles and Ravens fan since the earliest of ages. Soccer, however, wasn’t always her thing. In fact, her introduction to the sport included starting sixth grade with a black eye after a ball struck her face at her first rec team practice. But when she was assigned to cover the Baltimore Blast in 2007, she quickly became addicted to indoor soccer, piquing her interest in the beautiful game.
