It looks like somebody may be on the verge of challenging Patricia Jessamy in the 2010 Baltimore state’s attorney’s race. A reader informed me that on Saturday he received a call which sounded very much like a push poll for a man named Gregg Bernstein. You can read more about Bernstein here. The ten minute telephone poll was about local politics and it focused on the 2010 state’s attorney’s race comparing Bernstein and Jessamy. I emailed Bernstein and asked him if he is running, but I received no reply.
If Bernstein runs I do not think he can win if he is Jessamy’s only competition. I think if he jumps in to the race that others will follow because they understand a three or four-way race will weaken Jessamy more than a one on one battle.

I was on the receiving end of that insulting to anyone with half a brain push poll. I asked if Mr. Bernstein were a declared candidate and was told no. If this poll is any indication of his sense of the electorate’s intelligence, it’s best he remain a non-candidate.
